Helping the Community

In Support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation

Day to day we help people make the right decision about real estate investments. But for some of us, a dream home isn’t bricks and mortar, it’s a safe home free from the threat of violence. It is for those members of our society that we’ve chosen to donate a portion of every dollar earned to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, dedicated to ending violence against women and children.

The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation is the largest public foundation in Canada dedicated exclusively to ending violence against women and children.  Royal LePage pays the costs of administration, so that all of the money and effort goes towards helping local shelters and supporting violence-prevention programs.

Specifically, we are now focusing our efforts and working through the Shelter Foundation to support Union Gospel Mission’s new Women and Families Centre. It is the only Women’s Shelter in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, Canada’s poorest neighbourhood. We recently toured their facilities on East Cordova St. and we were moved by the stories of the people that they help. This new program exists to help women, many of whom are victims of domestic violence, get their lives back on track. In addition to providing shelter, counselling, and help with mental wellness, UGM also provides help with life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, exercise, and reaching a Grade 12 Equivalency education.

We match any donation made by our clients, dollar for dollar, up to $1,000 per transaction. 100% of the donation goes to the Women and Families Centre at UGM. Income tax receipts are available for any donation over $25.
